What’s been happening:

I left Penn State after my Sophomore Year, June 1950, to enter Naval Flight Training (i.e. Korean War Period). I was a jet carrier pilot until Sept. 1954, when I left active Navy duty and went to the Univ. of Florida. I graduated June 1957 from Florida, Bachelor Aeronautical Engineering--with Honors. I joined NACA in 1957 as an Aeronautical Research Pilot at Langley, Virginia. In 1963, I transferred to Edwards AFB, with what now was NASA. I flew and managed in flight test until retirement in 1987. In the year 2000, I was inducted into the "Lancaster Aerospace Walk Of Honor"--a special recognition for my years of contribution to the nation's aeronautical research and development. In 2004, my autobiography was published by NASA as a government publication. It is named: "THE SMELL OF KEROSENE, A Test Pilot's Odyssey". The book is available on the NASA Dryden Internet site. It is also available in paper back on the Internet. My wife, the former Audrey E. Waite from Coraopolis, PA, and I live in California, not far from where I flew for NASA. We have four children, Sandra, Karl, David and Darren. After my NASA retirement in 1987, I did volunteer work with a local senior group and the AARP-IRS tax program until 2005. After that, I retired-retired. Donald L. Mallick
